Meeting 12/07/08

Talarus Luan : Alright, shall we begin? :)
Rem Nightfire : yes
Praetor Janus : Good Evening All
Rem Nightfire : hello praetor
Talarus Luan : Firstly, I want to thank everyone for coming, and to thank Hekate for her generous offer of her very nice meeting space. :)
Helpless Frog : Very nice, yes.
Hekate Galatea : gave me an excuse to finish my remodel.
Talarus Luan : (also want to say I am a bit under the weather at the moment, so apologies if I appear a bit scatterbrained or otherwise slow in typing/responding)
Yohan Pintens : we’ll just pretend like you’re trying to mimic Jack
Aztek Aeon : haha
RedMokum Bravin : :-)
Helpless Frog : LOL
Talarus Luan : Hehe. Yeah… that. :P
Talarus Luan : First up, as always, I would like to present news of the mainland.
Talarus Luan : The last two weeks, we’ve definitely seen an upsurge in land cutting, sometimes, it seems, from random people who are unrelated to the usual suspects.
RedMokum Bravin : Like new people have read “How to become rich in SL” books.
Rem Nightfire : but the usual suspects move right in
Talarus Luan : One particular example, this past week, in Sentry, a land owner carved up a fairly sizeable plot into long strips & pieces, and dumped them
Talarus Luan : It was apparently some kind of emotional response to dealing with LL or its policies.
RedMokum Bravin : Whom are we talking about in Sentry?
Simeon Beresford : Hi folks
Talarus Luan : It was in Anya Ristow’s region, more or less in her back yard, so she can give more details if you are curious.
Timo Daehlie : hi simeon
Talarus Luan : I’d need to look up the name, but it is not anyone we’ve noticed anywhere else, and apparently, this person owned the plot for some time before.
Praetor Janus : thanks for the rescue Ewan :)
Ewan Mureaux : :)
Talarus Luan : Either way, it is likely the publicity about adfarming/landcutting has reached enough people where they may think it is an acceptable way of “getting back at” LL for something.
Simeon Beresford : nods
Talarus Luan : It isn’t unexpected, of course, but I would not expect it to be as widespread a reason than the extortion angle.
Helpless Frog : True
Herne Diker : Has Jack ever announced his anticipated new policy, or is that dead?
Ewan Mureaux : he announced that he will anounce an announcement
Rem Nightfire : “any day now”
Herne Diker : hehe
Herne Diker : LL speak
Helpless Frog : Sounds like standard politics to me. Table it indefinately.
Talarus Luan : Yes, I was getting to Jack. :) At his office hours this week, he said he had a draft of the draft policy (go figure) and it supposedly will be blogged imminently
Simeon Beresford : I have met people who ad cut for revenge on several ocasions
Talarus Luan : I prodded him about when, and he said “in a couple of days”. Being Thursday, and Lindens don’t work weekends, that probably means no earlier than tomorrow.
Talarus Luan : However, this is not the actual policy, but a “call for comments” on one.
Drongle McMahon : Any clues as to the content?
Talarus Luan : He is supposedly opening up a forum thread to get feedback.
Talarus Luan : Then there will be at least one revision cycle.
Talarus Luan : Probably two or more
Bushido Contepomi : if we are left without a clear policy this week, are there any contingency plans in effect to combat the cutting?
Drongle McMahon : But that’s what they do after it’s all decided, isn’t it?
Rem Nightfire : we are stuck with waiting i think at this point
Helpless Frog : Yep, tabled for ever.
Timo Daehlie : maybe wait with planning till after we now bush
Talarus Luan : Not really; he hasn’t said anything specific yet, but the actions of Harry Linden over the last month seem to indicate that they are approaching it from a “dispute resolution” standpoint.
Timo Daehlie : we know some more i mean
Herne Diker : what has harry done?
Rem Nightfire : he has moved a few donut holes
Helpless Frog : I have a few I’d like to have moved.
Rem Nightfire : AR them cant hurt
Talarus Luan : More or less, you file your issues with microplots with them, and he has come and moved the microplots to other places in the same sim
Rem Nightfire : in my case he moved them to a roadside
Talarus Luan : However, he first asks you and the owners of the plots to try to negotiate in good faith.
Simeon Beresford : How have people approached harry to get them moved?
Drongle McMahon : Onto whose land?
Rem Nightfire : AR is what i did i think he responded to the third one
Bushido Contepomi : How efective is it to drop an notecard with a listing of all the micro plot’s effecting us into Harry’s Profile?
Helpless Frog : I would negotiate if the owners would actually login and read the IM’s/notes
Talarus Luan : In my case, he recovered a 400sqm plot from a dead account and cut replacements out of it.
Simeon Beresford : suspect the is linden land on most sims
Rem Nightfire : yes
Herne Diker : sweeping the issue under the rug
Talarus Luan : Yeah, he IMs both you and the owners and says “work it out, or else”.
Talarus Luan : The else part is basically reclaiming the holes, and selling them to the offended parties for either L$0 or the standard rate
Simeon Beresford : lol you dont have a lot to lose if you have a donut hole
Rem Nightfire : it was footman in my case the plot was 9999 he offered it to me for 5000 i said no way and contacted harry the next day the plot was set to me for 16 L
Simeon Beresford : but what can you ar under
Rem Nightfire : land fraud
Talarus Luan : Then replacing them with cuts out of Protected land or other reclaimed land in the region
Herne Diker : footman was in Gergonne also doing corners
Timo Daehlie : is he still cutting ?
Talarus Luan : Yes, he is not likely to give up
Drongle McMahon : They will run out of protected land.
Rem Nightfire : he’s still buying 16 s yes
RedMokum Bravin : That 16 unit should cease to exist… pffff
Talarus Luan : he has no reason to yet. There is no anti-landcutting policy, and very few of his extortion plots are getting addressed so far
Simeon Beresford : they will never run out of reclaimed land
Drongle McMahon : I don’t want the protected land next to me to suddenly belong to footman!
Simeon Beresford : just about ever sim has a plot they could reclaim if they have not already
RedMokum Bravin : No, that would be moving the problems from your front yard to your back yard, Drongle.
Rem Nightfire : harry cut a 16 out of the road and gave it to him he set it at 20000 L
Herne Diker : lots af abandonement
Helpless Frog : OMG
Simeon Beresford : crertainly every sim that has been ad cut
Timo Daehlie : lol
RedMokum Bravin : I keep filing requests for auction
Talarus Luan : Anyway. I think the landcutting policy will have two parts: 1) No more checkerboarding or cutting land into microplots and putting them for sale, and 2) existing microplots will be handled via a dispute resolution system, where the extortionists are highly likely to be moved.
Rem Nightfire : yes
Simeon Beresford : Same here Red
Bushido Contepomi : I have recently made an offer to each of the overly priced micro plot owners on my land , which I believe will solidify my case that the greedy ignorant MO FO’s are comitting a crime that must be dealt with (Land Fraud)
Drongle McMahon : But that’s just propagating the problem.
Simeon Beresford : have eight tickets in pipe line at the moment
Talarus Luan : Hopefully, we will know early this week where it really is headed.
Rem Nightfire : not really they are relatively harmless along a road he can charge whatever he wants and they can sit there
Herne Diker : we still need feedback on AR’s
Talarus Luan : Either way, it won’t be an instantaneous change.
RedMokum Bravin : The roads have become pretty useless though
Talarus Luan : yeah, ARs aren’t good for getting feedback, you almost have to follow up directly with the G-Team to get any kind of feedback
Talarus Luan : In my case, I had to talk directly with Harry on several occasions.
Timo Daehlie : can we all approach him you think ?
Talarus Luan : Tickets are an option, but the Concierge team gets land tickets, and they claim they have no way to route them to the G-Team.
Talarus Luan : I don’t think everyone approaching Harry specifically is going to scale well.
Helpless Frog : Yes, they’ve said that to me too.
Rem Nightfire : i immediately filed 7 more donut hole AR s but havent heard a thing i guess it takes multiple ones
Hekate Galatea : I wonder if it would do any good to provide a single list of “offences” for them to work on, instead of a bunch of single ar’s
Simeon Beresford : nods and ARs are dont seem to queue very well. some just get overlooked for days othethers are dealt with imediately
Rem Nightfire : talarus did that already i think
Hekate Galatea : an response?
Talarus Luan : However, the G-Team holds meetings twice a week, so once the policy is more concrete, I expect them to be a bit more forthcoming with feedback at those meetings.
Bushido Contepomi : What happened to the notecards we handed you last month Tal ?
Rem Nightfire : dont think so
Talarus Luan : That’s pretty much what I did, Hekate. I catalogged everything in my region in detail and gave it to Jack, then to Harry.
Bushido Contepomi : any word on what they were going to do with the info?
Rem Nightfire : you gave him the plots we all recorded too right?
Talarus Luan : I have compiled them, Bushido, and they were one of the things I gave to both Jack and Harry when I was campaigning to get the issues near me resolved.
Herne Diker : I honestly think the whole issue is low priority beneath trying to increase coorporative involvement that M’s hot on.
Hekate Galatea : If we put “Inc.” after our names, they’ll listen?
Talarus Luan : I wrote a huge letter to them, and included a lot of notecards full of data on the problems, asking them to look at the evidence to help form their policy.
Hekate Galatea : but they didn’t act specifically on any of the items listed – correct?
Rem Nightfire : nope
Talarus Luan : I also gave them the individual data notecards separately. Plus, I gave a copy of the omnibus letter to M and also to Cyn.
Rem Nightfire : i mean yes correct
Simeon Beresford : think we should be looking at all the bid advertising networks crystals cant be the only oversized onr
Simeon Beresford : perfumed garden springs to mind
Hekate Galatea : but, I like boobies! don’t get rid of perfumed garden!
Rem Nightfire : i counted those and it looks like shes within the 50 limit
Talarus Luan : Also, the parcel listings that you all came up with for certain ad networks, I passed those on as well.
Talarus Luan : I will keep badgering them, no matter what, but I expect that most of the issue they are thinking will be resolved with the “new policy”, when it gets around to arriving.
Drongle McMahon : What about Bigyi, Talarus? He had more than 60.
Drongle McMahon : *Bingyi
Talarus Luan : Yeah, that’s one of the ones I passed on. :)
Helpless Frog : Right, anti-adfarm policy was supposed to deal with them too.
Herne Diker : they are ignoring many valid ar’s
Talarus Luan : Well, I won’t pretend to defend their foot-dragging, ham-fisted, piecemeal approaches to solving problems, but they are pretty set in their ways.
Rem Nightfire : yea the response seems very random
Talarus Luan : It’s almost worse than dealing with a megacorp’s bureaucratic red tape
Simeon Beresford : I would like to see LL requre ad displays on stand alone cuts to be registered on a db or be removed
Talarus Luan : However, they are making progress. I mean, look where we are now, compared to just a short few months ago.
Drongle McMahon : Good one, Simon.
Simeon Beresford : that would keep peop0le under their 50 ad limit
Hekate Galatea : that’s a thought. just like a sex offender database.
Drongle McMahon : But it’s the licensing they rejected.
Talarus Luan : Yeah.
Talarus Luan : I wouldn’t expect them to do anything that increases their workload.
Hekate Galatea : I thought that registration was the best part of their plan, before they modified it
Simeon Beresford : once it was set up it would decrease their workload.
Bushido Contepomi : Jack has also reneged on his threat to bann those that are trying to circumvent the rules (eg: ROBO creating multi groups) which IMO is leaving some to feel pessimistic
Talarus Luan : They quite handily absolved themselves of responsibility for tracking and administering ads when they dropped the licensing deal.
Herne Diker : They literally can’t enforce any licensing because they have lost an overall view of anything going on in-world, it’s too big
Simeon Beresford : the reason crytals are all over is they have no way of checking how many there are qithout visitng
Talarus Luan : Yeah, it’s a monster that they would have to constantly feed.
Talarus Luan : ..and you are assuming that the ad runners would remain compliant with any reporting requirements.
Simeon Beresford : do that and they can remove it if its not listed
Helpless Frog : Well, there are many in-world groups that would help them with tracking information if they actually followed the stated policy of working with us.
Herne Diker : Local governments are one answer
Talarus Luan : Anyway. All that can be done at the moment is to continue catalogging the various offenses, AR them, and keep the pressure on LL to get that policy out asap.
Drongle McMahon : maybe we need Praetors.
Simeon Beresford : ads that are not registered would be by definintion not complient and subject to removal
Praetor Janus : ARs is not working anymore they simply don’t act!
Amalyn Whybrow : I am sorry to interrupt — is the information discussed in these meetings, or reports posted anywhere out-of-world? Transparency in what is trying to be accomplished may help [or lead to a witch hunt mentality from general user-base]
Talarus Luan : I don’t think we will get to another Office Hours without a blogged policy.
Talarus Luan : You mean like meeting logs?
Hekate Galatea : amalyn, if you nag me I’ll put it up on the site. I have a bad habit of forgetting though.
Amalyn Whybrow : Yes, as well as a format more public-friendly — like press releases
Helpless Frog : Does this mean Arbor needs a PR department now?
Rem Nightfire : nag her
Talarus Luan : Hehe
Simeon Beresford : nods we do
Amalyn Whybrow : Will do later *puts it on sticky by monitor*
Herne Diker : What did you mean you don’t think you will get to another office hour. Has Jack stopped them Talarus
Talarus Luan : Mostly, we pass around the meeting logs. The Arbor Project does have a website, though I don’t think the meeting logs are posted there, mainly because of lack of access.
Talarus Luan : No, I meant that the blog post is highly likely before the next office hours is all
Simeon Beresford : we put forward some prety extreme opinions at times in the group as individuals we need to show our moderate face to the world on occasion.
Talarus Luan : He may be willing to face us again and say “just another two more days”, but we’ve pretty much made it clear that he’s rapidly losing any credibility he still has by continually pushing back the deadline at the last minute.
Herne Diker : Does he care?
Jeffrey Gomez : Jack still has credibility?
Simeon Beresford : his credibility is pretty low right now after the open sim debacle
Talarus Luan : Well, if no one thought he had any, I don’t think there would be anyone at his office hours.
Hekate Galatea : I don’t know, some people just like to bitch and moan in groups.
Talarus Luan : So, yeah, I think he still has some, but it is definitely not a large amount.
Simeon Beresford : but discussing him her does not effect his credibility with the wider sl comunity
Hekate Galatea : even without Jack being involved, it does make some matters apparent to a larger group
Jeffrey Gomez : I thought it was just the fact he’s the only contact they have :p
Talarus Luan : Perhaps, but all the bitching and moaning this year about our issues DID have an effect.
Jeffrey Gomez : But, yeah.
Ewan Mureaux : jack is a lot better one to one, if you take the time to wright him a well thought email
Simeon Beresford : thats why we need PR
Simeon Beresford : toblogs forum postss
Bushido Contepomi : No one likes to be ripped off, and when it happens to us, it causes an insecurity, so when you come home and find your kitchen table gone….I apologize for my slander towards the people who are causing a negative impact to my experience in Second Life by chopping up the land I want to build my home and business on
Rem Nightfire : well there is a landcutting thread going on now
Hekate Galatea : I’ve got a blog set up, it was for the adzoo meetings but can be updated for this new version
Herne Diker : where is the thread?
Timo Daehlie : who opened rem ?
Rem Nightfire : in the forums
Rem Nightfire : not from jack though
Talarus Luan : Well, I do what I can when I see issues come up in the forums about microparcel landcutting and extortion, and I spend a little time debating on blogs outside of SL about the issues.
Rem Nightfire : someone who had land cut next to them i forget her name
Praetor Janus : Jack must be looking for another job …
Talarus Luan : Alright. Anyone else have any other news, or questions? If we would like to talk about forming some kind of PR department, it is something we can get Xerses in on.
Ewan Mureaux : I think we’re seeing an end to the “pick a job with the most feel-good factor” attitude now with M’s new hiring policy, the whole company it seems has more direction, hopefully that will trickle down to in-world/ resident related matters and management
Simeon Beresford : i think we should at least set up a blog.
Herne Diker : they just hired 100 new lindens and are trying to intergrate them
Praetor Janus : One question
Helpless Frog : Really?
Talarus Luan : OK. It’s something we (as a group) can recommend to Xerses. :)
Helpless Frog : I heard they layed off Lindens.
Talarus Luan : Yes, Praetor? :)
Praetor Janus : where’s Xerxes??
Yohan Pintens : Probably at home with his family or at Church
Ewan Mureaux : yeah from that valley rumour blog, they laid off maybe two people more because they were shit at their job than any failing as a company like the blog tried to make out
Kyrion Yalin : night everybody, sorry to be late, work problems
Timo Daehlie : xerses is hardly online last time praetor
Herne Diker : hi kyrion
Simeon Beresford : they took on a lot of lindens before they intoduced the ad policy
Praetor Janus : oh Ok I see :)
Talarus Luan : No problem, Kyrion
Drongle McMahon : lanscutting thread = http://forums.secondlife.com/showthread.php?t=295898
Timo Daehlie : you can send him an IM or notecard but it can take days before he responds
Talarus Luan : I think he has a fairly busy schedule on Sundays, and can’t always show up. :)
Timo Daehlie : family life is keeping him busy
Praetor Janus : I noticed that :) Thanks Timo :)
Talarus Luan : Thanks, Drongle. Will check that out.
Rem Nightfire : yea liven it up talarus
Talarus Luan : hehe
Herne Diker : descend en-mass
Drongle McMahon : Yuo can argue with Phil Deakins there!
Talarus Luan : Alright, I’d like to turn the floor over to Timo to talk about Land status. :)
Talarus Luan : Bah.. Phil’s a weenie. :P
Timo Daehlie : wll .. there seems to be some progress now in rejoining the bigger plots we have ..
Timo Daehlie : the landscape team can be held responsible for this, Rem will tell some more about this later on.
Timo Daehlie : next point : during last meeting we mentioned to have a contest, i think it was praetor who offered some space so it will be fine to see some volunteers for this
Simeon Beresford : contest?
Timo Daehlie : yes simeon ..
Shez Oyen : I missed last week
Nick Vilas : me too :x
Timo Daehlie : 2 weeks ago shez ;)
Shez Oyen : oh :/
Timo Daehlie : we will have a contest simeon ..
Helpless Frog : Recap please.
Simeon Beresford : i never get to these things
Timo Daehlie : well if some have ideas or want to help just let me know
Timo Daehlie : i will make sure there is prize money available
Simeon Beresford : tel us the contest details Timo
Timo Daehlie : well its an idea that needs to be worked out further simeon .. but think of nature related stuff
Timo Daehlie : can make several categories , the best tree for example
Simeon Beresford : im always willing to landscape garden a parcel its why i became a land angel
Rem Nightfire : landbeuatification contest
Timo Daehlie : nice rem ;)
Rem Nightfire : except for the spelling
Bushido Contepomi : I am always willing to donate my land towards an Arbor Project, so let me know if you want the space
Timo Daehlie : cool
Timo Daehlie : any other ?
Helpless Frog : Some rules would be needed so that it’s a fair playing field.
Nick Vilas : what is this meeting?
Simeon Beresford : picinc stuff plants barbies standing stones. even steps
Timo Daehlie : agree helpless
Simeon Beresford : anything you might need in a public park space
Bushido Contepomi : I have a news reel today about the progress of SL rather than all the negative media crap we have been hearing as of late:
Timo Daehlie : yeps
Helpless Frog : I’m thinking more along the lines of a “toolbox” of stuff that is to be used.
Bushido Contepomi : http://www.massively.com/2008/12/07/businesses-not-stampeding-from-second-life
Shez Oyen : It’s a meeting of the Arbor Project, Nick.
Timo Daehlie : can work it out further helpless if you want
Simeon Beresford : picked up some freebies from the moles the other day
Helpless Frog : Sure. I’m just thinking of encouraging everyone regardless of ability to participate.
Helpless Frog : Cool! Any we can have?
Helpless Frog : I’ve been going through my inventory this week. (ugh, it sucks)
Simeon Beresford : ummm somewher in my inventory
Talarus Luan : Yes, mine, too :P
Talarus Luan : 27,100 items.. time for cleanup :P
Shez Oyen : ack
Nick Vilas : arbor project?
Simeon Beresford : 38697 time to cry
Talarus Luan : Yes, the Arbor Project. We Build Trees. :D
Bushido Contepomi : LOL!
Timo Daehlie : okies Rem will tell something about the landscaping team
Herne Diker : and the smaller ones of us make bushes
Helpless Frog : I’ve already managed to get mine down to 12k and it’s still dropping. :)
Bushido Contepomi : Hahahaha!
Talarus Luan : We help to improve the mainland for everyone. :)
Praetor Janus : LOL
Simeon Beresford : land reclamation and aNTI CUTTING /ADFARMING GROUP
Drongle McMahon : We want a … SHRUBBERY!
Bushido Contepomi : That sounds good Simeon:)
Talarus Luan : We’ve got them. :)
Rem Nightfire : ok by my best estimation – as of 2 days ago- there is 13712 m of land ready to be landscaped
RedMokum Bravin : We love nature over concrete and asphalt
Helpless Frog : LOL You forgot the music. :)
Praetor Janus : we have many trades, I kill land cutters :)
Drongle McMahon : Ni.
Bushido Contepomi : LOL!
Rem Nightfire : the landscapers have worked on 5584 m about 40%
Helpless Frog : LOL
Talarus Luan : That’s quite a bit, Rem. About how many unique plots is that, and what average size?
Shez Oyen : hooray for Praetor!
Helpless Frog : I’ve already done one and have 2 in work.
Praetor Janus : bows :)
Talarus Luan : That’s quite a bit. :)
Rem Nightfire : average size is about 200 to 300m
Bushido Contepomi : /me wonders why Pra;)
Shez Oyen : I’ve done 2.. scouting the next
Rem Nightfire : and its probably 65 plots or so
Praetor Janus : I would like to inform that I’m easy to work with :D
Talarus Luan : Cool. It’s a lot of work, then.
Bushido Contepomi : *Pratetor isn’t on his friends list lol
Shez Oyen : lol
Rem Nightfire : yes great progress and the places ive seen are great
Herne Diker : that sounds great are they parks or reintegrated into the grid?
Rem Nightfire : thanks to hekate for making the sign
MaCelia Morane : I’ve done 5 little plots
Talarus Luan : Lots more effort to nicely landscape a large plot than a lot of small ones, so great work so far. :D
Shez Oyen : mine are mini parks
Simeon Beresford : could we organise a depositity that people could claim their kits from
Rem Nightfire : so far 2 of the landscaped plots have been given to immediate neighbors
Shez Oyen : blending in grid is good too.
Timo Daehlie : we are working on a store simeon
Timo Daehlie : its in Alturing
Talarus Luan : Probably should put the URL in the group description.
Talarus Luan : errr. LURL
Talarus Luan : *SLURL
Drongle McMahon : Rem. Should we give the contents to the group?
Simeon Beresford : NOD YES
Rem Nightfire : yes and a request to the landscapers – please put your name at the beginning of the name of the plot so i can keep track better
Bushido Contepomi : I must admit that Shez has taken the team leadership role in our land reform group
Talarus Luan : We talked about having several different types of vendors. Some public, some group-only
Rem Nightfire : i think so drongle – timo?
Helpless Frog : We were supposed to use *** (name) land name while working
Shez Oyen : Excellent idea Tal
Timo Daehlie : if you want to drongle its ok
Helpless Frog : Then remove our name after completion, right>?
Rem Nightfire : yes not everyone is doing that
Praetor Janus : Arigato @ Bushido
Helpless Frog : Ah
Rem Nightfire : oh i didnt know about the completion part
Rem Nightfire : did we say that?
Shez Oyen : ohhhh
Shez Oyen : I didn’teither
Helpless Frog : The *** in name and description was to prevent the automated system from changing them, correct?
Drongle McMahon : But leave the *** ?
Yohan Pintens : the *** is VERY Important
Shez Oyen : that will make it hatrder for Rem to keep track of
Shez Oyen : almost imposible
Rem Nightfire : i think its ok to leave it and it makes it easier to keep track of – short of me going to each plot
Timo Daehlie : yes drongle leave the ***
Timo Daehlie : the landbot wont return the stuff that way
Rem Nightfire : is that ok timo?
Helpless Frog : I’ve just left my name in the plot description only. No sense cluttering up the land name with drivel.
Rem Nightfire : to leave the name of the landscaper?
Timo Daehlie : yes rem sure ;)
Rem Nightfire : please do that then ok?
Simeon Beresford : sigh i was landscaping things as the mood took me long before this will try and play by new rules
Timo Daehlie : ok )
Simeon Beresford : we realy need a blog
Hekate Galatea : The landscaper’s name isn’t drivel -
Helpless Frog : It is to the neighbors.
Shez Oyen : ::cough::
Hekate Galatea : not necessarily.
Hekate Galatea : sometimes it’s nice to know who worked on your bordering land
Shez Oyen : I am always curious about designers and creators
Rem Nightfire : yes
Yohan Pintens : if you have parcels you’ve landscaped in the past, be sure to visit them and add the *** otherwise its likely your work will get returned
Helpless Frog : Since we are promoting Arbor not ourselves.
Hekate Galatea : www.etakeh-oh.net/adless
Hekate Galatea : that is the blog that exists now.
Rem Nightfire : its just to help keep track helpless
Rem Nightfire : if you dont want to do it thats ok
Simeon Beresford : yes would be nice to have a contact name so they can make a sugestion/ interfere.
Shez Oyen : lol
Helpless Frog : Eh, I’ll do it however the group says. I just thought that is what the current instructiosn were
Shez Oyen : I would apprecitae that
MaCelia Morane : The *** helps us know which plots are already being worked on, too…
Shez Oyen : I love the spiral fountain someone did
Talarus Luan : I wouldn’t think of it is self-promotion; it’s utility.
Rem Nightfire : there is some realyy beautiful stuff on the plots now
Talarus Luan : It’s nice to know, but mainly it helps us keep track.
Simeon Beresford : in the end its their land that we want to improve by our actions so we need to fit to their needs
Rem Nightfire : yes
Helpless Frog : Yes. This project is what prompted me to go through my inventory finally.
Rem Nightfire : hehe
Timo Daehlie : helpless is the prim problem solved on that plot ?
Talarus Luan : Well, see, some good came out of it after all. :D
Rem Nightfire : thats all i have any questions?
Shez Oyen : I’m finding stuff long lost too Frog
Helpless Frog : Doh!
MaCelia Morane : How are we meant to work with our partners…?
Bushido Contepomi : I found a couple of nice ferns (full mods) for small areas if anyone would like a copy
Helpless Frog : Should I go back and make sure my name is in the land name on the plots I’ve done?
Rem Nightfire : well the way it seems to be going is that mostly the plots are being done solo
Shez Oyen : It seems to be going that way
Rem Nightfire : your partner could be someone you consult with
Yohan Pintens : hard to fit more than 1 person on a 16 Rem :P
Shez Oyen : people have time to work on it at all odd ours
Helpless Frog : The solo thing is mostly a result of the tiny plots we are working on.
Shez Oyen : hours
Rem Nightfire : > 128 yohans
Praetor Janus : Tks @ Simeon :)
Drongle McMahon : Melodie an I are never here at the same time.
Helpless Frog : The larger ones are when additional help is needed.
MaCelia Morane : I’m doing solo but sent a notecard of my finished plots to Cinco for info
Drongle McMahon : Would be useful ti discuss plots though.
Rem Nightfire : yes and that can be done with any of the other landscapers
Kyrion Yalin : thanks Simeon
Helpless Frog : Good point.
Bushido Contepomi : LOL! thanks Simeone:)
Shez Oyen : Thanks :)
Shez Oyen : It’s always interesting to collaborate
MaCelia Morane : Thanks, Simeone!
Rem Nightfire : yes thanks
RedMokum Bravin : :-)
Simeon Beresford : Did I miss anyone?
Rem Nightfire : so maybe we have 12 teams
Hekate Galatea : got it, thanks,
Herne Diker : thanks simeone
RedMokum Bravin : If anyone wants the cloaking scripts….
Talarus Luan : By the way, I think the arbor forums are still open. Not sure how useful they are to everyone, but they are there, and can be used right now
Shez Oyen : other folks thing of all sorts of neat things that would never dawn on me.. I love it.
Rem Nightfire : timo and the 12
RedMokum Bravin : script that is
Hekate Galatea : oh good lord. timo and teh 12 desciples.
RedMokum Bravin : It makes many things invisible and not shine through a nice mega prim :-)
Rem Nightfire : by all means consult with each other
Helpless Frog : LOL
Timo Daehlie : no no i am not part of it ;)
Hekate Galatea : I’m NOT drinking his blood. Ok?
Masiko Preis : Heyo
Bushido Contepomi : Apologies Tal, can you paste the URL again please..
Hekate Galatea : blood of timo…
Rem Nightfire : i was wondering if it would be useful to form a group so we can have group chats
Helpless Frog : Please, I’d like to have a look-see at the script.
Yohan Pintens : also folks, make sure if you see a [number] at the beginning of the parcel description you do not disturb that, its used by the tracking system
Shez Oyen : ohhhh
Talarus Luan : Sec. I am checking to make sure what it is before I say that is good info…
Bushido Contepomi : *for the Arbor Website
Helpless Frog : Oops
Helpless Frog : One of the ones I have now did have.
Shez Oyen : :/
Talarus Luan : It used to be http://arbor.npl.com but it appears to be down, so that information may be incorrect.
MaCelia Morane : A group might be good, Rem
Yohan Pintens : Talarus: I believe its being moved to another server
Herne Diker : group spam is always nice
Praetor Janus : Tks @ Red
Helpless Frog : LOL
Rem Nightfire : what do you think timo ?
MaCelia Morane : lol
Talarus Luan : We’ll check with Xerses to see what is up with it, and we’ll post a notice with the updated info as we get it. :)
Herne Diker : communication is key to effectivness so yes to a group
Timo Daehlie : to create a separate group rem ?
Talarus Luan : Oh, OK, Yoahn.
Talarus Luan : *Tohan
Rem Nightfire : yes just an idea
Talarus Luan : Dang.. typing sucks
Rem Nightfire : for communication
Talarus Luan : *Yohan. :D
Timo Daehlie : sure
Simeon Beresford : not anothner group!
Rem Nightfire : haha
Rem Nightfire : ok i will look into doing that
Hekate Galatea : could and existing group be used?
Shez Oyen : it seems a little redundant
Rem Nightfire : we could use direct action
Shez Oyen : and everyone likes to know what’s going on anyway, right?
Hekate Galatea : right…was just going to suggest that
Rem Nightfire : the landscapers would need to join
Talarus Luan : OK. One recurring topic I would like to mention is the ongoing issue about the party. I take responsibility for delaying it as long as I have, and you can tongue-lash me as much as you desire over it; it’s clearly been too long.
Rem Nightfire : it never has other chat going on anyway
Masiko Preis : A favor this whole existing group thing
Shez Oyen : I’m unfamiliar with it, let us know Rem?
Herne Diker : and that would encourage people to join the landscapers
Rem Nightfire : ok i will send an invite to all the landscapers that are not in it done
Timo Daehlie : we will have it this year talarus ?
Talarus Luan : However, there have been a number of issues keeping me from it the last couple of months, including RL projects (MONEY! :D ), completion of my mall, and the hope that the LL landcutting policy would have been announced long before now, giving us a good boost for having one. :)
Hekate Galatea : could make it a new years party
Shez Oyen : or Yule?
Drongle McMahon : Too much competition, Hekate
Masiko Preis : People like doing family ish on Christmas
Talarus Luan : Aye, it is getting a little late due to the holidays, so I am pondering having it after Christmas, close to New Years’
Bushido Contepomi : Promises Promises :(
Herne Diker : acceptable time!
Shez Oyen : heh
Drongle McMahon : I will be away for Christmas :-(
Masiko Preis : Oh right sure have it during Kwanzaa, we can all give eachother ears of corn
Praetor Janus : ???
Shez Oyen : I love corn
Talarus Luan : That will give me time to deal with the rest of what I have on my plate for year end, (I have a Festival this week, and a Dragon Egg Release right before Christmas) and it will allow time for LL to give us another good reason to celebrate. :)
Masiko Preis : lol Shez
Timo Daehlie : Dragon Egg Release ..
Talarus Luan : Maybe it will be our Yule present. :)
Masiko Preis : Praetor, Kwanzaa is a week long starting December 26th
Bushido Contepomi : Wooot! Good point Tal :)
Talarus Luan : Yes.. Daryth’s adult Dragon avatars are limited editions.
Herne Diker : Are you ovulating Talarus?
Masiko Preis : You know, to take advantage of all those mall sales
Talarus Luan : Not recently. :)
Praetor Janus : Masiko, that celebrates what?
Yohan Pintens : Praetor: who cares, its an excuse to party! :)
Talarus Luan : Anyway.. we WILL have it, and it will be well timed for everyone, I hope. :)
Praetor Janus : good point :D
Rem Nightfire : YAY!
Shez Oyen : /me raises glass to Yohan
Masiko Preis : It’s an African American holiday, Praetor, celebrating principals of community unification
Hekate Galatea : it’ll have to be a 24 hour party, to make sure everyone gets to come.
Hekate Galatea : right?
Masiko Preis : Tehre are 7 principles one for each day
Rem Nightfire : sounds good to me
Shez Oyen : neat Masiko…
Herne Diker : Fabricated holiday in the last decade or so.
Talarus Luan : So, in the meantime, feel free to throw snowballs, rotten tomatoes, large chunks of bloody landcutter flesh, etc at me. :D
Yohan Pintens : Make sure Jack Linden is invited this time, he got bent out of shape being left out of the last one
Talarus Luan : He was invited
Shez Oyen : I’d like to go to any of those parties :o
Masiko Preis : Herne, the 60s were more than a decade ago
Masiko Preis : lol
Herne Diker : oh
Talarus Luan : He just didn’t get the invitation in time. :P
Rem Nightfire : robo came
Praetor Janus : Oh, Masiko, sorry for my ignorance :)
Rem Nightfire : and went
Talarus Luan : Umnik did too
Herne Diker : invite all the big wigs, get them invested in our group
Rem Nightfire : yes i liked his speech
Talarus Luan : and so did Austin..err, I mean, Kalyrra.
Masiko Preis : http://www.officialkwanzaawebsite.org/index.shtml
Rem Nightfire : i missed her.him/them
RedMokum Bravin : :-)
Talarus Luan : I get those two mixed up for some reason. :P
Shez Oyen : Thanks Masiko :)
Talarus Luan : OK, one last pair of organizational items..
Praetor Janus : tks @ Masiko
Herne Diker : they need us to play the game of extortion, otherwise no one would notice the trolls
Talarus Luan : first, we’re looking for more venues for the next meeting, and we’re also deciding when it will be, given that in two weeks, it will be very close to Christmas.
Masiko Preis : lol thanks Timo
Hekate Galatea : stop with the snowballs, you’re steaming up the place
Hekate Galatea : place that is
Ewan Mureaux : could meet at script academy, i’m stil building it though
Rem Nightfire : just for information, melodie has made an ad resistance museum
Talarus Luan : So, if you would like to host, please let Timo or me know. :)
Masiko Preis : Ermmm yeah how big of a space do you need for meetings, Talarus?
Simeon Beresford : awen sim is always open to the arbourr project
Helpless Frog : Same with Moolmangcho
Talarus Luan : What you see here. :)
Talarus Luan : Doesn’t need to be too big.
Praetor Janus : My sims are yours Talarus, whenever the group needs :)
Talarus Luan : 20m across for where the sitting area is
Talarus Luan : (chat range)
Simeon Beresford : our pub hass a nice meeting area for a group this size
Masiko Preis : Okay well, I guess we could have one at Kuumba then
Hekate Galatea : another roof party?
Masiko Preis : But it would prolly have to be outside at the picnic tables or on the roof
Masiko Preis : Hekate, yea… I could do that
Shez Oyen : outside is always nice :)
Rem Nightfire : burgers!
Masiko Preis : Outside with the picnic tables and the burgers might be cool
Simeon Beresford : nod we have an outdoor rink atm
Simeon Beresford : with seating close bye
Talarus Luan : ..and, lastly, we are also looking for folks who would like to chair the meetings as well. I am always happy to present and manage the meetings for the Arbor Project, but there is nothing saying that I am the only one. :) Anyone who would like to chair a meeting, please feel free to contact me or Timo, and we’ll be happy to help you with it. :)
Simeon Beresford : and burgers :^)
Shez Oyen : and beer :)
Herne Diker : turkey, pork, beef and shrimp burgers simeone
Simeon Beresford : mulled wine at this time of year
Masiko Preis : Beer would go with the burgers, but you know…
Ewan Mureaux : right i’m offski, see you all soon
Shez Oyen : oh yum!
Rem Nightfire : you are great at it talarus
Timo Daehlie : ciao ewan ;)
Shez Oyen : meade
Talarus Luan : This endeavor has always been a group effort, and not about any one person or place, and I like to extend that theme wherever and whenever possible. :)
Masiko Preis : Bye Ewan
Simeon Beresford : and some hot chestnuts
Helpless Frog : Kind of hard imagining a meeting without Talarus in charge. :)
Praetor Janus : I wish you well Ewan
Hekate Galatea : agree, helpless
Rem Nightfire : nobody will mess with you
Masiko Preis : The artists are growing more curious about Direct Action and arbor
Talarus Luan : Oh, it’s not so hard; we have a very talented and eloquent group of people here. :)
Herne Diker : which artists
Masiko Preis : Did I tell you about the griefing class at NCI?
Helpless Frog : ??
Talarus Luan : Granted, few are blue/purple celestial Dragons, but then again, no one is perfect. :D
Masiko Preis : The artists that live at my hippie commune
Bushido Contepomi : LOL! Masiko!
Masiko Preis : NCI has a class that teachers people how to AR 16m cut ups
Simeon Beresford : few griefers can withstand you logging of and getting a cup of coffee
Talarus Luan : Oh, cool. :)
Masiko Preis : Yeah Bushido
Masiko Preis : Trez went to “Griefer Class” at NCI which was all about how to report griefers
Talarus Luan : Oh, I don’t have to log off. I just mire them in an inescapable intellectual quagmire.
Bushido Contepomi : Really? I thought you were kidding, my apologies Masiko:)
Masiko Preis : Came back ARing al the 16m plots
Masiko Preis : Yep really Bushido
Talarus Luan : Cool. :)
Helpless Frog : How do I get to the next class on ARing?
Rem Nightfire : you remember who taught it masiko?
Masiko Preis : I didn’t go, Rem, Trez did
Rem Nightfire : right
Masiko Preis : He was going to come today, but he fell asleep.
Talarus Luan : Just go to one of the NCI campuses and check out their class offerings.
Masiko Preis : I think I wore him out.
RedMokum Bravin : :-)
Rem Nightfire : ohh?
Hekate Galatea : keep your personal business to yourself, masiko….
Masiko Preis : If I find out who taught the class, I will let him know.
Masiko Preis : I will, Hekate.
Hekate Galatea : heh
Masiko Preis : I’m just messing with Rem about it.
Rem Nightfire : i know a seeecret….
Talarus Luan : Yes, also, to reiterate what Rem said, Melodie is building a museum of adfarming, so please, if you haven’t had a chance to see it yet, stop by and have a look. :)
Masiko Preis : Anyway I think that its cool they are teaching it
Herne Diker : slurl
Bushido Contepomi : Do you have an LM Mel?
Talarus Luan : Melodie, do you have your SLURL to your museum?
