SLag

Filed under: Second Life,Shiny Things — Etakeh @ 9:46 pm

Today there was a meeting of people who are against the land-cutting and virtual extortion on Second Life.  There were some problems with people rezzing fully, with some interesting effect.  There were several “greys”, and delayed landings.  My favorite was this, however:

missing skin

I think I’ll try a blank white skin with blank white eyes…Or something like this.  With the light colored hair, it looks very interesting.

Djin wanted to go to get mcdonalds for dinner.  So I went to the website to see what they had.

They had regions.

Like Poland. Very impressive.

Japan.  I like how the big ol’ sammich on the front page has EVERY meal.  Breakfast, lunch, dinner…all in
one 12-inch high burger.

Hamburger, Japan

Finland.   I can’t read a word of it, but their food looks better than ours.  I like how they have tandoor chicken.

Anyway, it’s fun.

Microbotic

This is when I go, ”Dammit to hell, why did talent get distributed so unevenly?  Why did the great Goomba in
the sky smack me extra with the ugly stick instead of the talent stick?  HUH?  WHY?”

No one ever answers me.  But I have proof - as seen on Christopher Conte’s website.  This stuff is pretty damn
cool.  I love to see practical learning twisted into something this fantastic.

Madcows

On a whim, I did a search on SL Exchange today for Baba Yaga.  I wanted to know if anyone had tried building her hut.

Someone has.

Following the landmark in the listing, I found a great little shop that’s chock fulla nuts - um, I mean, full of
fruity goodness!  Oh, just go look yourself: Madcows Primordial Soup and Sandwich

404

Filed under: Boring Personal Stuff,Random — Etakeh @ 1:14 am

So I’m looking for some wav’s, and find this site that has “sounds of faith”. What the hell, I clicked it.

GUESS WHAT?

Thanks, God.

That’s right, I looked for faith, and got the big ol’ 404. The resource I requested could not be found on the server.

Thanks, God! Right back atcha.

=============

Let me tell you a little story.  It’s about the day of the momentous birth - mine.

The day of my birth, my mom was in the hospital being induced.  The reason, I was quite a bit overdue and
Bonus! the couldn’t detect a heartbeat.  Couldn’t detect my heartbeat.  So, in the tradition of good Christians
everywhere, my dad and my aunt Dixie prayed for me.  Amen.

Long story short, I came out alive and a little pissed off.  According to my dad and aunt, it was because they
prayed.  According to Dixie, God has his finger on me.

Again, I must say, ”Thanks, God”.  I mean, I’m not one to second-guess the all-knowing, but what the hell was the point?   It’s not like my life has been so great and meaningful that we can justify a “finger”.  A goodly portion of my childhood sucked.  My adult life hasn’t been a whole damn lot better, and don’t you dare say that god is just testing me.  I’m not into that tempered by fire thing.

Ok, so I don’t even claim to have a belief as to whether there is a higher power or not, but the whole ”finger of
god” story just makes me cringe.  Makes me wonder…

which finger was it?
