Places, Please!

Filed under: Boring Personal Stuff — Etakeh @ 9:14 pm

Next week it’s Inventory.  I’m now the Inventory Specialist.  That means that Inventory is a Big Deal for me.

It means that between now and Monday, everything we do will be geared towards organizing and clearing out for inventory.  We aren’t like those stores that stop stocking the shelves because inventory is coming, we keep right on with our regular schedule until the night before, then the night after we resume.

That means that I’ll continue checking things in, processing trasnfers, all the stuff I already do…while poking around the corners of our store for anything that hasn’t been accounted for.  Any lose ends must be cauterized.  Right.

This means that we’ll be finding all the things that got screwed up when we opened, and things that happened before I took over.  Because I, personally, have NEVER made any mistakes in my inventory since I took over. Nosireebob.

Oh and going to work at 6ayem that morning.

Whee!  Wasn’t that fun to hear about?

That’s a first.

We got us the first non-white president. Pretty damn cool.

So that means change, one way or another.   That’s what his campaign was based on, right?  But aside from the big question mark that he himself is, as far as what he’ll do during the next 4 years, there’s going to be changes in perceptions, in thought patterns, and I betcha in a lot of other ways.

I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Balancing act

Filed under: Boring Personal Stuff — Etakeh @ 1:09 am

I like the idea of cosmic balance.  Maybe because I’m a Libra, maybe because I think I should because I’m a Libra, maybe for some other reason entirely…but the point is, I like the idea.  It’s like Karma, right?  What goes around, comes around.

In the larger picture, it should mean that the good and bad in a persons life should balance out.  The thing is, the good and bad often happen so far apart, it’s almost pointless.  Like a brilliant painter only becoming successful after death.  Like that.

I don’t know.  Seems like we should get a pop-up or something.  You know, like “hey, this is for that time you helped the old lady across the street” or “remember that time you totally cut off that old lady?  yeah, sucks huh.”

Anyway, that’s just my happy thought for the day.
